Since meeting Gabriel, Nicole has had a crush on him, though he's always seen her as his friend's very off limits sister. When Nicole comes to visit her sister though, things take a turn when she finds her way into Gabriel's room and makes a discovery. Coming home from work, Gabriel's annoyed to find someone in his room...until he opens the door. With their physical attraction now out in the open, its all that the pair of them can do not to tear each other's clothes off constantly (though they have a good go at that), but sometimes it isn't so easy to switch off your heart, as both Nicole and Gabriel start to realise as it gets closer to her leaving...
I need more! I need what comes next and I was definitely surprised by this book! This'll probably teach me to double check the blurb before I read a book (especially when I first signed up ages ago) otherwise I end up shocked! Albeit in a good way. Right from the off, the passion and chemistry in #1 Crush were off the scale, even if the characters were solo on screen. If you're looking for some fluffy romance then this definitely isn't it, but if you're looking for some definite sizzle then read this now!
The relationship between Gabriel and Nicole is mostly physical, though they did have a friendship already which was built on during the book, meaning that there was a bit more to it than just sex, and there is a lot of sex between them. Considering that at points both characters were said to not want relationships, I thought this worked well, though I did feel that at some points they were going to get caught and it wouldn't end well.
What I thought that the author caught really well was just how complicated it can actually get it you have sex with someone close to you, and how it can't just be physical. Though there isn't a grand romantic gesture at the end of the book, or any 'I love yous' (thank God!) the characters have grown to care a lot more for each other than they did, and that worked. It will especially work going into a second book which I really want to happen!
I really enjoyed #1 Crush, it wasn't overly romantic, there was lots of sizzle and the two combined actually made a really good read.
