Moving to Dubai full time to work for her father's company was never part of Violet's plan. But then again neither was Samir. A one night stand from 5 years ago, Samir is still interested in Violet, and she quickly finds out that keeping her feelings seperate from the passionate affair they started...
Violet's story has definitely been full of twists and turns that is for sure! And the ending to her part of the Gilded Flower series was no different. Vi is the character whose ending was definitely the most up in the air, and there was a part of me that was sure that her ending would involve Thomas.
At first I wasn't sure about the inclusion of Samir in Violet's love life (as opposed to Thomas). But as the book progressed I found myself warming to him majorly, particularly as he stood up to Violet's father a bit, and let Violet make her own way in the business environment.
I absolutely loved how involved Violet got in business. Even if she was more reluctant at first (understandably considering that part of the reason she was there in the first place was because her hand was forced) she worked hard and I found it interesting to see her interacting with characters very different from those in the past.
I also thought that True Violet captured long distance friendships and their difficulties well. Mainly in that they don't stop you actually being really close to the person, despite not living in the same place!
Once again the Gilded Flower series has delivered. These girls haven't had it easy, but they are so real and deal with their problems in a very human way, which makes them a lot more likeable!
