Shuttle Pilot Cory wants one thing; to make yellow prisoner, Bella, his own. When Bella becomes a witness in the murder of one of the guards her life is put in danger; and much to her concern so is Cory's. But their relationship, whether real or fake, could make the difference between life and death.

I like the way that the ES Siren books work! Each set of three is set at a different time in the journey, and focuses on a different issue facing the ships. In this set the focus seems to be on a potential criminal uprising. Though there was a higher story arc that hasn't been resolved yet (and an even bigger one over the whole series) there are smaller plotlines within the book that got resolved leaving reader satisfaction.

The chemistry between Cory and Bella was there, though there was far more to their relationship than that, including some points when I just wanted to yell at the two of them for playing games with each other, even if most of the time that was for good reasons. Though they were also super sweet to another!

Interestingly a theme that came up in Ours to Embrace that hasn't been that common in the other books is that of family. In general the people on board the Siren have known that there was no going back or they already had no family. But in this case, Bella's mother Mona was on board with her. It gave another dimension to Bella's character and motivation.

There was also more information given about the dystopian like aspects of life on earth in this book. Everytime something else is revealed I feel partly horrified and worried that that is where the world could be heading.
