Since being let loose in the universe, Ella has known that her memories aren't all there and is looking for a way to find herself. But someone else seems to be wanting to find her too, and she finds herself helped by the attractive ex-Lord, Torgeir. Torgeir is instantly attracted to Ella and intrigued by her. Determined to prove to her that she belongs with him, it becomes a battle against outside forces to keep her safe...
So Cyberella was half erotica and half sci-fi, and while it was all good, I much preferred the bits of the story that really powered it forward, which were most notably the action scenes, as well as some of the more romantic scenes between Torgeir and Ella. The steamy scenes were good though, but did involve some elements of bondage so it may not be for every reader.
What I did find interesting was the slight fairy tale elements. From the title I was expecting predominantly Cinderella ties, and they were there, particularly in the ending (though it has taken me until writing that to realise that!) but there were also some elements of Snow White and even a tiny bit of Rapunzel (though I'm unsure about whether the latter was intentional).
The chemistry between Torgeir and Ella was good, even when they weren't in overly intimate situations. It also felt like a relationship of equals, even if there was a bit of submission and dominance in the bedroom. Ella still stood up for herself and Torgeir still respected her for that and didn't try and stop her from doing things anymore than necessary.
I'm now really intrigued by this universe, and hope I can read something from Preyfinders soon. Cyberella is a stand alone from the universe but it has me really interested now!
