Sapphire is one of the most desired women in the universe, and a Galaxy Playmate. Men have pictures and fantasies of her but can't touch her unless they're in a relationship with her. While performing, Sapphire feels that she has a telepath watching her and influencing her during her shows, but instead of feeling scared, she feels drawn to him, though it iss weeks before Roark makes himself known to her, but when he does she can't help but find herself attracted to him.
So I've completely read the Galaxy Playmates books out of order (this is the third one I've read but the first in the series) but this is one of those series where it doesn't really matter so much. Each of the stories is stand alone though there is a little but of crossover (the main characters know each other) they are mostly seperate stories.
Saying that Sapphire did introduce the male lead from Quartz which I hadn't really been expecting, but it only set the scene for something that is learnt really early in Quartz anyway! There was also some good background on who/what the Galaxy Playmates are.
There was good chemistry between Sapphire and Roark, and I thought that the author took into account the alien parts of Roark well. There were some sex scenes that wouldn't be possible if Roark was human and that was certainly...interesting.
This is a fun series for those quick in between reads!
